Its getting real...funny
I've been itching to write a blog post for a while. However its been a busy time as I've moved from San Jose to Seattle. Well now I'm getting settled and I'm ready to write about something I've found funny for a few months. If you have shopped at any place similar to Whole Foods the song and video for 'Whole Foods Parking Lot' should at least have you break into a chuckle.
You're the most annoying dude I've ever seen bra Could you please move you're right in front of the Quinoa
So here's a little taste of that humor in video form [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UFc1pr2yUU&w=560&h=315] Not one to miss humorous music I also came across another song by DJ Dave and company. Following his hipster trend we saw in the previous video he follows with 'Yoga Girl'. It has some silly lyrics in it as well that a white boy like me (or anyone who would make fun of a white boy like me) can laugh at.
You wanna meditate with me? I'm like...o/uhmm
[ad#Google Adsense] Also there is some pretty crazy yoga poses in this video. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-8IPDR4Khc&w=560&h=315] And you haven't had enough of the boys of Fog and Smog there is one last thing I'd like to show you. It seems they did a little spot for Hyundai that is right in line with their same rap humor. Also, 'tis the holiday season and this video is from a holiday promotion. Nice! I'm a big fan of humorous music. I follow Wierd Al on Twitter, he's funny there too. Do you know some other funny music I should check out. I'm all ears.
French + Flight of the Conchords = Sweet
I love flight of the conchords. I also love Scrubs. I am also a fan of comedy and the french language. These 4 things came together in the first season of Flight of the Conchords. Watching season 9 of Scrubs, where Eliza Coupe plays Dr. Denise Mahoney I am constantly thinking about "A Kiss Is Not A Contract."
Definitely No Sugar
Of course, the number one song and video for me from the series is Foux De Fa Fa. If you ever took French in high school and have forgotten everything since this should be pretty funny for you. If you are a francophile with a sense of humor( like myself ), enjoy. Friday Humor with Flight of the Conchords
My Friday humor posts have featured Flight of the Conchords many times. The second season has taken a little getting used to, as the humor is slightly different. The songs are written to the story instead of the other way around ( as was the case with the first season ). Episode 5 really clicked with me and so I started looking back at some of the songs from the season. There have been some good ones. This post features a new rap song called "Hurt Feelings". ...
I messed up and forgot to set the date ahead for this post. So some of you get my Friday humor, one day early.
Friday Humor with Dr. Horrible
A friend at work introduced me to this humorous musical show created by Joss Whedon during the writers strike. It is a brilliant piece of humor and art. I would love to see more but, as with something else by Joss Whedon, it doesn't appear to be in the cards. Oh well, this is long and split into three parts but well worth your time to watch. ...
Don't watch if you have a hard time watching Mal Nathan Fillion as a jerk antagonist.
Visit the Dr. Horrible page at Hulu to see just the individual parts ( if you are short on a chunk of time ).
Watch the guild for more Felicia Day goodness.
Primus on Boing Boing TV
One of my favorite bands is Primus.Primus sucks! When I was first learning bass guitar my friend and guitarist Jeff had me buy a CD to get inspired. While he later regretted that decision as he didn't want to sound like Primus, it did turn me on to an extremely interesting band to listen to. So today was the first time I actually watched an episode of Boing Boing TV rather than just skim the article as they had a interview with Les & Ler. I just hope that a new album is indeed in the works. My friend Fats and I have been waiting. ...

Plus la musique française / More French Music
For my valentine's day post this year I posted a youTube video of Francis Cabrel, who I heard about from FrenchPodClass.com ( 72, 73 ). Recently I purchased L'Essentiel 1997-2007 so that I could listen to his music more frequently. It is a great collection of music. Now that I have one collection of music I thought I'd look into another group I heard from FrenchPodClass.com ( 71, 72 ) and liked - Niagara. ...
Niagara was a mid to late 80's band that created pop music of the day. Since I grew up listening to late 80's music, it is no suprise I like ( what for me amounts to ) new 80's music. The song I most enjoyed from the podcasts was Pendant Que Les Champ Brûlent. Muriel Moreno's sultry singing style in that song reminded me of some great alternative bands of the early 90's while at the same time making me think of Billy Holiday's almost lazy singing style.
Since I wanted to hear more of the band to see if I liked them, I took a look at the track list for their album Flammes and made a youTube playlist of as much of the album as I could. The music was fun and the videos were definately indicative of their time. One song and video that really caught my eye was Les Flammes de L'Enfer. Between the circus theme and the colors it is quite spectacle. Here it is, enjoy.
On a personal note, I appreciate how the Daniel Chenevez had his conducting in time with the music.
The Rush(ians) are coming!
I don't get cable so I could have missed it. Last week on The Colbert Report one of my favorite bands, Rush, appeared on the show. Not only that, but the whole show got Rush-ified from the opening monologue, to the Word, to the actual interview. It was quite enjoyable to watch. This just proves that there is some worthwhile information in those Adobe blogs. ...
Since the whole show was rushified, here it is. This may not work for IE users so why not get Opera ( or if you must Firefox, Safari, etc. ).
If you have a debug version of the flash player you will see a sandbox violation. You can just continue past that and everything should work fine.
Road to the Throwdown
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are one of my favorite bands. A couple years ago I checked and it looked like they were defunct. No new albums were out or forthcoming and there wasn't a website for the band anymore. It was actually a little bit sad as I have a lot of good memories of their music as well as a couple shows I had the pleasure of seeing. It made me very happy to find out that the band is back together. While they may not be road warriors like they were before, they are once again touring. ...
With many bands, getting back together often comes with a VH1 documentary about the reunion. VH1 isn't involved, but they did put together a six part documentary about the road to their first show in 5 years. The 5 day concert series that spawned the concert album, Live From The Middle East, the Hometown Throwdown is an event for Bosstonians  to enjoy an awesome small venue concert experience.
Here is part one of the Road to the Throwdown:

Smooth Criminal - Redux
Earlier this week I posted a video mashup someone did where they had Fred Astaire doing Smooth Criminal. Well, I got a little addicted to the video and last night watched it and many related videos on youTube. There is another Fred Astaire/Michael Jackson mashup for Billie Jean. The one that caught my eye though was for a different reason - entertainment. I like a good show, it can make music I don't even like worth listening too. So I found an amazing live version of Smooth Criminal online that I just had to share. ...
Smooth Criminal
I've always liked the song Smooth Criminal. I thought it was great when Alien Ant Farm covered it. I remember the original video well enough. This mashup however is really great. By the way, I am sorry for using the words 'mashup' and 'great' in the same sentence. ...
